We invite submissions of pieces that were never really meant to be found: notes app fragments, abandoned drafts, and poems written without an audience in mind. Work that carries the texture of immediacy, intimacy, or hesitation is especially welcome. If you’d prefer to stay anonymous, just write “anon” in the name field.
issue 2 is open for submissions until 01. OCTOBER 2026
short stories, excerpts, diary entries, finished poems, unfinished poems, random notes, visual art — all welcome.
issue 2 – theme (optional)
As this will be our autumn issue, I would like to invite work that explores the concept of transformation. If you have any pieces written during, after or about a period of change, please share them with me as the leaves turn and fall.
No payment is currently offered for accepted submissions. Authors retain full copyright. By submitting, authors grant Mushroom Rain permission to publish accepted work on the website and maintain it in our online archive.
